The Department develops selected abilities in the field of military intelligence and intelligence support in the Army of the Czech Republic. Emphasis is placed primarily on the topics as follows:

• intelligence disciplines, 
• information analysis, 
• intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR),
• use of Electronic Warfare (EW) in operations.

The areas of development are addressed in relation to their use in peace, crises and military operations in order to provide full theoretical support in their implementation to the C4ISTAR architecture.
