The Department of Applied Social Sciences and Humanities realizes and guarantees the teaching of social-scientific subjects in the study programmes at the Faculty of the Military Leadership and Faculty of Military Technology, in attendance and combined form of study.

Department of Applied Social Sciences and Humanities ensures the organization and teaching in the courses aimed in particular at improving the soldiers and civilian employees in the area of soft skills development according to the requirements of the Ministry of Defense, the Armed forces of the Czech Republic, respectively. The department involves in teaching in career courses and lifelong learning courses – Senior Officers Course and in the General Staff Course within a teaching block topics of leadership. On request, department ensures lecturing activities for the units and facilities of the Armed forces of the Czech Republic in the area of prevention of socially unwanted phenomena.

In the framework activities the Center for Consulting Services of the University of Defense the members of the Department of Applied Social Sciences and Humanities provide consulting in the pedagogical and psychological area.
