The Department’s Role in Education and Research in English Programs
The department does not guarantee any specific course in English but participates in teaching within the ERASMUS program.
Master’s Degree Program: Artillery Unit Commander Module
Objective of Specialized Courses
The objective is to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform roles such as artillery unit commanders.
Fire Control in Artillery (ŘPD)
- Understand the theory of tactical and technical fire control for artillery units.
- Comprehend principles of fire support for mechanized units and artillery task formations.
Artillery Tactics (TAD)
- Master the theory of tactics for artillery battalions and batteries.
- Understand principles of the combat deployment of artillery units.
Artillery Unit Operations (ČJD)
- Grasp the principles of selecting and preparing fire position areas.
- Understand the operation of artillery units in fire positions.
- Know the safe use and operation of artillery weapon systems and ammunition, including processes related to firing artillery rounds.
Artillery Fire Support (ZPD)
- Learn about the tools and principles of artillery reconnaissance, meteorological, and topographic-geodetic preparation.
- Gain knowledge of automated fire control systems.
- Deepen understanding of internal ballistics for the safe use of artillery weapon systems.
Field Training (PP)
- Develop practical skills as artillery commanders through application and practice of knowledge gained in specialized courses.
Advanced Master’s Degree Program: Security and Defense
In this program, which follows a bachelor’s degree, the Department of Fire Support contributes by supervising student theses and teaching specialized courses:
Fire Control in Artillery (ŘPD)
- Master the theory of tactical and technical fire control for artillery units.
- Understand principles of fire support for mechanized units and artillery task formations.
Artillery Tactics (TAD)
- Deepen knowledge of the tactics of artillery battalions and batteries.
- Understand principles of the combat deployment of artillery units.
Doctoral Degree Program: Theory of State Defense (TOS)
The goal of the doctoral program is to develop the scientific thinking, knowledge, and skills of university graduates whose education aligns with the program, preparing them to address scientific and research tasks in their field. Graduates are equipped for scientific, research, and managerial roles aligned with the needs of the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic (AČR), select governmental agencies, local authorities, and tasks arising from allied commitments.
The Department of Fire Support, apart from serving as a training center for doctoral students, also oversees an elective course: Support and Provision of Armed Forces in Operations – Artillery (PZOS-D).
