Teaching at the Department od Engineer Support
The Department of Engineer Support develops educational and training activities within the master’s degree program Command and Employment of the Armed Forces. The department is responsible for and conducts instruction in the master’s study module Engineer Unit Commander in the following subject:
- Combat Support Engineering:
- Mobility Support,
- Counter-mobility Support,
- Survivability Support,
- General Support Engineering:
- General Engineer Support
The Department of Engineer Support also participates in the training of students from other study modules.
Focus of the Study Module
The Engineer Unit Commander study module is aimed at developing knowledge, skills, and abilities in performing engineer support tasks, as well as at building fundamental habits and competencies in the preparation and management of the platoon’s specialized activities. Graduates of this module are prepared to conduct training within units and to prepare them for both combat and non-combat operations, capable of fulfilling assigned missions independently or within NATO forces.
Facilities
Instruction for students of the Engineer Unit Commander module takes place at the Šumavská Barracks, where the department is also located. Currently, the department has two specialized classrooms that are undergoing renovation. By 2026, the department will have access to modern, fully equipped classrooms, including facilities to support practical and theoretical instruction.
Graduate Profile and Placement
Graduates are qualified for entry-level command and staff positions within engineer units of the Czech Army. They are primarily assigned to units of the 15th Engineer Regiment, with the prospect of further career advancement within the Engineer Corps of the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic. Graduates may also serve in units of the 7th Mechanized Brigade and the 4th Rapid Deployment Brigade.
