Scientific and Research Activities of the Department of Engineer Support
The Department of Engineer Support focuses its scientific and research activities on basic and applied research in the field of combat and general engineer support, particularly in the context of current and future armed forces operations. Research results are regularly published in peer-reviewed professional journals and presented at conferences with international participation.
The department’s research is primarily oriented to the following sub-areas:
technologies for conducting demolition operations and destruction,
training and preparation of commanders and engineer units,
calculation and optimization of the use of forces and means and costing of engineering works during the fulfilment of engineer support tasks in combat and operations,
engineer support for combat operations, implementation of combat engineer support measures,
engineer support for non-combat operations, implementation of general engineer support measures,
deployment and use of modern systems (UAV/UGV) within engineer support,
design and application of 3D printing in demolition operations.
Members of the department also contribute expert services within the Ministry of Defence and at the level of the Engineer Corps.
