Curriculum vitae

Born on 2 August 1982 in Prerov and having completed the secondary school in Kojetín, Jakub Odehnal graduated from the degree programmes of the Faculty of Economics and Management of the University of Defence and from the Faculty of Economics and Administration of Masaryk University. In 2015, he defended his habilitation thesis titled „Multidimensional Analysis of Defence Expenditures Determinants“ in „National Defence Economics“ field. He has worked for the University of Defence in the positions of a teacher for the Economics Department and of the vice-dean responsible for curriculum of the Faculty of Military Leadership.

He has engaged in the research focusing on national defence economics publishing in Czech and foreign journals and regularly presenting at international conferences. In the period of his work for the University of Defence, he has contributed to several specific research projects and led the „Long-Term Plan of Organisation Development“ project. In 2015, he was a member of SAS-113 NATO working group, in 2016 being an international intern in the USA.

His teaching activities include guarantying a subject for the University of Defence study programme, giving lectures and tutoring the final theses. He has been an outside affiliate for the Faculty of Science of Masaryk University.
