Curriculum vitae

Born in Brno on 27 December 1981, Martin Vlkovský completed his secondary education at the grammar school in Kapitana Jarose in Brno. He obtained the Bachelor’s degree in Logistics Services within National Defence Economics from the University of Land Forces deployed in Vyskov, while the Master’s degree in the Czech Armed Forces Logistics module from the University of Defence. In 2010, he obtained his PhD degree in National Defence Economy from the University of Defence. Based on successfully completed habilitation procedure at the Faculty of Military Leadership, he was appointed „docent“ (associate professor) degree in Military Management Field from the University of Defence.

His academic engagement began in 2008 in the position of a lecturer of the Department of Logistics under the Faculty of Economics and Management. He has been appointed the leader of the Military Transportation Group within the Department of Logistics, Faculty of Military Leadership since 2020.

He has focused his teaching and research work on the issues of military logistics, aimed at military transport. He is leading researcher of two long-term intentions of organisation development (LANDOPS and INTAL), leading researcher for the University of Defence in KRIZTRANS project (in Transport 2020+ programme) and represents University of Defence to EDA Cat. B – AMLS international project. He is the author of a number of technical publications indexed in WoS/SCOPUS databases. He has been an evaluator for the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic active in ETA programme since 2017 also in Transport 2020+ programme since 2019.

Lieutenant Colonel Martin Vlkovský has been appointed vice-dean for research of the Faculty of Military Leadership since 1 April 2022.
